The 2025 Prime Day guitar deals will officially land on Tuesday 8 July and stretch right through to Friday 11 July in an unprecedented 4-day bonanza of deals and discounts. If you're a Prime member (details on how to sign up below), you'll be able to take advantage of all the best gear savings at Amazon, in addition to all the non-Amazon sales that will take place at the same time.

Ready to pull the trigger right now? Ahead of Prime Day, I've spied some mega July 4th deals live already, including a massive up to 60% off sale over at Guitar Center, while you can check out some of Amazon's best-selling music gear - from strings to microphones - ahead of the deals dropping next week; handy for planning your wishlist.

In my opinion, while Prime Day at Amazon isn't always the best place to pick up discounts on major brands or top-end gear, it can be an absolute goldmine of discounts on less obvious accessories that all guitar players need, like cables, Velcro and batteries. I'll be keeping an eye out for the best value gigbag essentials throughout the coming days.

In the run-up to Prime Day, myself and the Guitar Player team will be keeping this page updated with all the early deals on everything worth considering, as well as throughout the event itself. Make sure to keep checking back to see what's been added, as it might be your most coveted gear up for grabs with a significant discount!

Lego Fender Stratocaster
Lego Fender Stratocaster: was $174.99 now $153.50 at Amazon

Looking for a fun guitar project that doesn’t involve soldering or dismantling your favorite guitar? Why not take a stab at the Lego Fender Stratocaster kit? This Lego set is super fun and incredibly accessible and with 12% off at Amazon you really can’t go wrong.

D'Addario XL Strings
D'Addario XL Strings: was $18.99 now $17.99 at Amazon

While purchasing fresh sets of strings might not be the most exciting thing, it's something all us guitarists need to do on a regular basis, so stocking up isn't a bad idea. With this D'Addario XL three-pack reduced from $18.99 to $17.99, that works out at a mere 6 bucks per set.

PRS SE Custom 24
PRS SE Custom 24: was $849 now $679 at Guitar Center

The PRS SE Custom 24 is one of our favorite guitars here at Guitar World. For me, it hits that sweet spot of affordability, playability, and great sound, making it a proper gigging workhorse that will sound just as good in the studio as it does on stage. It's got single coil sounds available alongside the humbuckers, and the build quality is amongst the best I've ever seen. With a $170 discount at Guitar Center, this is a must-have if you need a pro-grade guitar that doesn't cost the earth.

Electro-Harmonix Soul POG
Electro-Harmonix Soul POG: was $324.80 now $129.90 at Sweetwater Sound

The EHX Soul POG is criminally underrated in my opinion. I've had one on my 'board for years now, sitting near the front of my chain to give me a tone boost through the Soul Food and, of course, that delicious octave guitar tone courtesy of the POG. It's super flexible as you can swap the order of the pedals, or use the send and return jacks to insert effects in between the two. With a ginormous $194.90 discount, it's cheaper than just buying a Nano POG by itself, so you're essentially getting the Soul Food for free. Bargain!

Ernie Ball Music Man St Vincent Goldie
Ernie Ball Music Man St Vincent Goldie: was $3,099 now $2,499 at Musician's Friend

The Ernie Ball Music Man St Vincent Goldie is a weird-looking instrument, but I found it surprisingly comfortable when I played one. Despite it looking more like a quirky indie guitar, you can absolutely shred on this thing, and I thought the neck profile was super comfortable. It's got a colossal $600 reduction over at Musician's Friend, so if you're in the market for some premium and a little less usual, go check it out.

Guitar Tricks: Get 1 month for only $1

Guitar Tricks: Get 1 month for only $1
If you've decided that our number one pick Guitar Tricks is for you then you can currently take advantage of this Guitar Player exclusive deal – get your first month of Guitar Tricks for just $1. There aren't many things you can buy for a single dollar these days, and certainly not access to 11,000+ premium guitar lessons!

D'Addario XPND Pedalboard
D'Addario XPND Pedalboard: was $109.99 now $104.83 at Amazon

We are massive fans of D'Addario's game-changing telescopic pedalboard design. This unique 'board adjusts to accommodate your pedal needs, meaning it will always fit your setup and remain neat and tidy at your feet. Save 5% for a limited time at Amazon.

Down to just $47.99 with a 20% reduction in the early Prime Day sale at Amazon, if you’re looking to fill a gap on your pedalboard or just get started building your first one, it’s a great option. When is Prime Day 2025?

The Prime Day 2025 dates have now officially been confirmed as Tuesday 8 through to Friday 11 July. This is the first time Prime Day that has taken place across 4 days, so we're expecting to see even more deals than previous events.

In previous years, some deals have stuck around for a few days after the event, but with Prime Day 2025 being longer, the lifespan of the best deals may be shorter.

In my experience, non-Amazon retailers who are taking advantage of Prime Day may launch their sales early to compete. In fact, we're already seeing July 4th sales going live, along with a range of early-Prime Day deals direct from Amazon.

Do you need an Amazon Prime subscription to get a Prime Day deal?

To take advantage of the Prime Day music deals on Amazon itself, the answer is yes. If you’ve never been a Prime member before, Amazon often offers free trials – right now you can sign up for a 30-day free trial, so you could be tactical and sign up just before the event, then cancel your subscription once you’ve bagged a bargain.

If you’re a regular Amazon shopper, you might want to keep hold of that subscription though. Prime members get faster delivery, exclusive deals, access to Prime Music, Prime Video, and more.

Where can I find the best Prime Day guitar deals?

In recent years we've seen Amazon-only deals on brands like D'Addario (a couple of years back there was a 30% discount applied to a crazy 106 models of strings), and this year we're keen to find discounts on guitarist essentials such as Velcro, tools, batteries and more.

There are plenty of discounts to be had on other sites too, with money off everything from amps and pedals to strings, wireless systems and more.

Usually, the likes of Guitar Center, Musician's Friend and Sweetwater all get in on the action.

Prime Day shopping tips

1. Consider your music-making goals - What are you planning to do with your music-making for the coming months? Make sure you purchase gear that's going to serve your goals, whether you're recording a whole album or you want to try your hand with a different gauge of electric guitar strings.

2. Work out what you actually need - Look at your gear collection and see where the gaps are. There's little point buying another overdrive pedal when you've already got five of them! This process should be fed by your music-making goals, and stop you from buying things you don't really need.

3. Make some room - We're all guilty of hoarding gear, but Prime Day presents an excellent opportunity to have a clear out. Not only will your partner and family thank you for clearing some space in the house, but you'll also free up more funds for future gear purchases!

4. Create a wishlist - There are going to be thousands of deals going around on Prime Day, so creating a wishlist early allows you to focus on the things you really want. Listing the prices pre-Prime Day can also show you how much of a deal you're actually getting, making this a doubly worthwhile exercise.

5. Sign up for mailing lists - Now you know what you want, sign up for mailing lists from the manufacturers of the products or your preferred retailer. This will get you the news of fresh sales straight into your inbox, meaning you can jump on them quickly. Our own newsletter will feature some of the best Prime Day guitar deals too, so make sure to sign up for that if you haven't already!
